Energy Minister Appeals for Patience Over ECG Upgrades

The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has issued an earnest appeal to the public, asking Ghanaians to bear with the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) as it rolls out an extensive nationwide infrastructure upgrade. The GH¢1.8 billion initiative is designed to address deep-rooted structural challenges and significantly improve power reliability across the nation. Acknowledging that the massive intervention will inevitably cause short-term inconveniences—most notably, intermittent and planned power outages—Dr. Jinapor emphasized that these disruptions are a necessary step toward securing Ghana's long-term energy future.
