Addo names Black Stars squad for friendlies

Otto Addo Names Black Stars Squad for Austria and Germany Friendlies

Otto Addo has unveiled his squad for the Ghana national football team ahead of crucial international friendlies against Austria national football team and Germany national football team later this month.

The squad announcement forms part of Ghana’s preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the technical team aiming to fine-tune tactics, assess player form, and build cohesion before the global showpiece.

Ghana will first face Austria on March 27 at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna before traveling to Stuttgart to take on Germany on March 30 in what promises to be a high-profile encounter.

These fixtures are expected to provide a stern test for the Black Stars against strong European opposition.

The squad largely features a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talents.

Regular names such as Jordan Ayew and Antoine Semenyo are anticipated to lead the team, while several new faces could be given the opportunity to impress.

However, notable omissions have also drawn attention, with reports suggesting that veteran forward Andre Ayew has been left out of the squad for these matches.

The decision signals a possible shift toward a younger core as the team builds for the future.

The friendlies are part of a broader schedule designed to prepare Ghana for their fifth World Cup appearance, following recent early exits in previous tournaments.

With expectations high, Addo will be looking to use these matches to solidify his best lineup and approach ahead of the tournament.

As anticipation builds, fans across Ghana and beyond will be eager to see how the Black Stars perform against two of Europe’s top sides.
