Spurs Take Command in Salt Lake City, Beat Jazz 126–109

The San Antonio Spurs delivered a strong offensive performance to defeat the Utah Jazz 126–109 on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City.

San Antonio got big nights from its star backcourt and frontcourt, pulling away in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Star Performances Lead the Way

  • De’Aaron Fox led all scorers with 31 points, hitting 6-of-9 three-pointers and showcasing his scoring versatility.

  • Victor Wembanyama added a dominant two-way game with 26 points, 13 rebounds and multiple plays on both ends that swung momentum to the Spurs.

  • Keldon Johnson came off the bench to contribute 21 points, giving San Antonio depth scoring when it mattered.

Five Spurs finished in double figures as San Antonio’s balanced attack proved too much for the Jazz.

Game Flow: Back-and-Forth Before Spurs Pull Away

San Antonio jumped on Utah early, building a strong lead through efficient three-point shooting and high-energy defense.

The Spurs led by as many as 15 points in the first half, but the Jazz battled back to stay within striking distance late into the third and early fourth quarters.

However, in the final seven minutes, the Spurs turned up the intensity — led by Fox and Wembanyama — sparking a 22–9 run that put the game out of reach and sealed the 17-point victory.

Notable Jazz Efforts

Despite the loss, Ace Bailey had one of his best outings, finishing with 25 points and consistently attacking the Spurs’ defense.

Jusuf Nurkić poured in a 17-11-14 triple-double, keeping Utah competitive throughout.

Spurs’ Shooting & Defense

San Antonio shot efficiently from the field, especially from beyond the arc, connecting on multiple threes early to build separation.

The Spurs also turned up defensive pressure in the fourth quarter, limiting Utah’s opportunities and forcing turnovers.

What It Means

The win improves the Spurs’ strong position in the Western Conference and highlights their depth and two-way scoring ability.

After a recent loss in Houston, San Antonio responded with a confident road performance.
